Bake: 20–25 minutes
Ingredients
-
400 g noodles or spaghetti
-
4 tbsp butter
-
5–6 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup milk
-
1½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella
-
½ tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
¼ tsp salt, or to taste
-
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
-
¼ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
-
Cook the noodles: Boil the noodles in salted water until just shy of al dente. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water, then drain.
-
Make the garlic sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add garlic and cook for about 30–60 seconds, until fragrant.
-
Add cream: Stir in the heavy cream, milk, Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.
-
Add Parmesan: Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup Parmesan until melted and smooth. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
-
Combine: Toss the noodles with the sauce and transfer to a greased baking dish.
-
Top: Sprinkle with mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan.
-
Bake: Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 20–25 minutes, until bubbling and golden on top.
-
Finish: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
For extra garlic flavor: Add ½ teaspoon garlic powder to the sauce along with the fresh garlic.
Optional: Add shredded chicken, cooked shrimp, mushrooms, or spinach to turn it into a complete meal.
